What really killed the dinosaurs?
Just about every civilization that exists today has a story about a mind boggling flood. The Bible teaches that a flood occurred less than six thousand years ago. This flood covered the entire earth, every mountaintop that existed during that time. I believe that a flood of this magnitude would certainly wipe out all air breathing land animals. Let’s examine this idea for a moment using the Bible.
First of all, notice that the bible claims the flood is responsible for the death of all living substance on the earth at that time. Genesis 7:4 “For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.” Genesis 7:10 “And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.”
According to the Bible, the land, plants, animals and human species had only existed approximately 1500 to 1600 years. We know this by using the first created man as a starting point and using that man’s genealogy to count the years forward until the flood. Conveniently, the Bible gives ages of the ancestry of Adam to help reference this. The likelihood that all dinosaurs were wiped out in that little time is not probable. But in order to accept this idea, one must believe what the bible says. Let’s look at what scientists today have found.
Have you ever heard of fossil beds? They are usually described as deposits of sediments that house large quantities of ancient animals, including dinosaurs. You can easily find hundreds or even thousands of animals in a fossil bed. Scientists have tried to explain why all of these creatures ended up buried in one place, but many of their explanations don’t make sense. May I suggest that dead dinosaurs and animals may have been washed into a an area that trapped them during the flood. As the flood subsided, the silt would have rained down upon their dead corpses under the water, which would burry them. The heavy pressures of water and earth upon them would have quicken the fossilization time as well.
A global flood could very easily explain how the dinosaurs were killed. It also answers many other questions like; Why do we see modern animals mixed in with the dinosaurs bones? And; Why are people finding human footprints next to dinosaur tracks? Maybe we need to re-evaluate the geological timeline
