There are many hundreds of strange phobias that i have heard of. Some of which are understandable and some of which are completely bizarre, because the subject of the phobia are completely harmless under any circumstances. Most phobias are developed from either an innate fear of something which we all have (such as spiders and snakes because they are poisonous or fire because it can burn us) which is just more prevalent in some people. However the other type of phobia is developed from a traumatic experience with something, often at a young age, which is why some people are terrified of things that most of us have no fear of at all.
