Overview
If you have perfect skin, consider yourself lucky. Perfect skin is what all women want and strive to have, although some do not know how to get it. Before you try to make your skin flawless, you should have a good idea of what skin type you have. Perfecting skin that is dry requires a different strategy than perfecting skin that is oily or mature does, so know what condition your skin is in before trying to perfect it for the best results.
Step 1
Wash your skin with a cleanser designed for the condition of your skin. Keep in mind that if your skin is oily, it will need a cleanser that will balance the oil in the skin. If your skin is dry or mature, it will need a cleanser that will add moisture to the skin. Sensitive skin will need a mild cleanser, while combination skin will need a cleanser designed to cleanse dry/oily skin. Cleanse skin twice a day if it is oily and only once a day if it is dry or mature.
Step 2
Wipe your skin with a cotton pad moistened with toner after drying your cleansed face. Use one that is alcohol-free if your skin is dry, sensitive or mature, and use a toner that contains alcohol if you have blemishes or blackheads, or if your pores are large. Wipe the oily areas of your skin with a toner for oily skin and the dry areas with a toner for dry skin, if you cannot find a toner for combination skin and that is what you have.
Step 3
Use an oil-free moisturizer on oily skin, and a moisturizer that contains rose or avocado oil on skin that is dry, sensitive or aging. Moisturize oily areas of your skin with an oil-free moisturizer, and use a moisturizer made for dry skin on dry skin areas if you cannot find a moisturizer for combination skin. Always apply moisturizer to skin before it completely dries. Blot your skin dry with a soft paper towel after rinsing it. Smooth on your moisturizer to lock the moisture in.
Step 4
Slough old skin off of dry, oily, mature or combination skin using an exfoliant. Apply the exfoliant to clean skin and rinse it off. Exfoliate your skin one to two times a week to perfect your skin.
Step 5
Nourish your skin with a mask once a week. Use a moisturizing mask on dry or mature skin, an oil-balancing mask on oily skin, and use both on combination skin if you cannot find a mask designed for combination skin. Apply a gentle mask to sensitive skin.
Step 6
Have a facial massage once or twice a month to tone sagging skin. Do some form of exercise every day to stimulate blood circulation, which will improve the tone of your skin. Apply a Vitamin C serum to your skin, according to the manufacturer’s instructions, to stimulate the production of collagen.
