Overview
The potato, rich in potassium, vitamin B6 and vitamin C, among other nutrients, has long been considered a staple food source. It’s even renowned–with no scientific proof to make its case, but plenty of colorful anecdotes–as such a powerful folk remedy for impurities that it is reputed to draw out poisons. While also lacking scientific evidence, numerous happy users report that raw potatoes made a significant dent in their blackhead problems. Potato facial treatments are gentle, so they can be used as often as daily if necessary.
Step 1
Peel a raw potato. The potato should be firm and white all the way through; if you find any green spots or dark spots, you should discard that potato and try a fresher one, or at the very minimum, you must cut or peel the green or dark spots away.
Step 2
Grate the raw potato, as finely as possible or cut it into the thinnest slices possible.
Step 3
Apply the freshly-grated or sliced raw potato to any acne-affected areas of your skin, leave in place, and sit or lay back and rest quietly for at least five minutes; ideally, you should leave the potato in place until it’s dry to the touch.
