If looking gorgeous on the go is a goal or you don’t have a lot of time for a morning routine, incorporate some easy beauty tips into your life for a beauty boost. Contrary to popular belief, looking beautiful doesn’t have to be expensive and painful and can be accomplished with some simple tricks any time, any place.
Beautiful Skin
Get beautiful skin by going easy on the foundation to avoid a heavy, caked-on look. Combine equal parts face lotion with your regular foundation for a lighter, glowing complexion, advises Good Housekeeping. Be sure to use a facial lotion with SPF to protect skin from UV rays. To cover up blemishes and red spots, dot on a yellow-based concealer under the foundation. If looking pale or sick and want an instant tan, brush on some bronzer. For a more toned look, mix the bronzer with firming lotion, suggests Scarlett Messina, a Pennsylvania-based makeup artist.
Luscious Lips
If luscious lips are desired, use a moisturizing lip balm before applying lipstick or lip gloss. If you have dry, flaky lips, Ladies’ Home Journal recommends scrubbing your lips lightly with a toothbrush to remove any rough skin before applying color. Use lip liner before applying lipstick. Lip gloss gives lips a shiny, kissable look but is the shortest lasting lip product, so be sure to have on lip conditioner underneath if using gloss. For lasting results, use lip balm, a lip pencil and lipstick and then top with a dab of lip gloss on the center of the lower lip.
Mesmerizing Eyes
For unforgettable eyes, practice some smudge-proof makeup tips. Sandy Gold, a professional makeup artist and freelance television host and producer from Toronto, says to use eyeliner pencil instead of liquid eyeliner to prevent smudging. Dot the pencil between the eyelashes to make them appear longer and fuller, she advises. According to Cosmopolitan, keep eyeshadow from smudging by putting concealer on the lids first to give the shadow something to stick to. Also, to prevent black buildup under the eyes, don’t use mascara on the bottom lashes unless it’s waterproof. When applying mascara, use an eyebrow comb to brush through the lashes, separating them and preventing clumping. Use an eyelash curler before applying mascara to give lashes a fuller, longer look. If a curler isn’t on hand, try using a spoon by pressing the curved end into the eye socket to flip up the lashes, Cosmopolitan suggests.
