Steps
The Clean and Clear Advantage Acne Control Kit is a three-step process that involves three separate products. First, the acne control cleanser is used to wash the face of impurities and prevent future breakouts. Second, an acne control moisturizer is applied to prevent dryness and eliminate oil on the skin. Finally, the fast-clearing spot treatment works to clear up individual pimples or problem areas on the face.
Time Frame
Use the Clean and Clear Advantage Acne Control Kit once per day at first. If excessive dryness or irritation does not occur, then you can use the treatment twice per day.
Each Advantage Kit lasts for about one month when used twice daily. Kits can be purchased at many drug stores or online. A monthly refill program is available for those who want their Advantage Kit shipped to their home once a month.
Ingredients
Salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide are the two active ingredients in each product in the kit. These two ingredients are both listed by the National Institutes of Health as a topical treatment for acne. Other inactive ingredients are also included in the products, such as mineral oil, potassium polyphosphate, fragrances and water.
Studies
In clinical studies, the acne control cleanser from the Advantage Kit reduced breakouts by 53 percent. The spot treatment was effective in 100 percent of patients in reducing the redness, size or number of pimples in one day. Overall, the treatment was found to be effective in reducing redness or the number of pimples and blackheads in all study participants over a four-week period.
Mark Eraser
The Advantage Kit can also be purchased as the acne and mark eraser kit. Like the standard kit, this version includes a cleanser, moisturizer and spot treatment. However, each product is designed to eliminate acne scars and there are two moisturizer products–one for daytime and one for nighttime.
