How to Use Carrot Oil for Eye Cream

Overview

Eye creams are used to treat and rejuvenate mature and sun-aged skin under the eyes. There are innumerable eye creams you can purchase at your local pharmacy or supermarket. However, many side effects, such as skin irritation and redness, can accompany these eye creams. If you are more alternative-health-oriented, you can make your own eye cream using carrot oil. Carrot oil contains high amounts of Vitamin A and beta carotene, both of which are found in numerous commercially prepared eye creams. You’ll discover that making eye cream out of carrot oil at home is a simple and fast process.

Step 1

Place 1/4 cup of beeswax in a sauce pan. Add half a cup of carrot oil and 2 tbsp. of aloe vera gel. Heat the mixture on low heat and stir constantly for five minutes. Add more carrot oil if you want your eye cream to be less thick.

Step 2

Transfer the carrot oil mixture to a clean container after it has cooled. Cover and set aside.

Step 3

Rinse your face with warm water to open the pores in your skin. Use a mild moisturizing soap to clean your face. Avoid scrubbing your face to prevent irritation and redness.

Step 4

Use your fingers to apply a dime-size amount of the carrot oil eye cream under each eye. Gently massage the cream under your eyes. Leave the carrot oil cream on overnight and wash it off in the morning.

Step 5

Apply the cream under your eyes daily. Place any leftover carrot oil cream in a clean jar and store in a refrigerator. The cream will last for up to one year if kept in the fridge.
