Information on Face Skin Care

Overview

Since facial skin is often one of the first things people notice about you, it should be considered a matter of importance if you want to display healthy and attractive looking skin. The best face skin care is tailored to nurture the needs of the skin’s condition. It also includes the use of products that provide a variety of skin benefits. Avoid doing anything during your skin care routine that will have a negative effect on the skin to accelerate improvement of your skin’s condition.

The Facts

Basic face skin care involves the use of a facial cleanser for cleansing, toner for additional cleansing and tightening of the pores as well as a moisturizer to hydrate the skin. Extensive skin care incorporates the use of masks that nourish and deep clean the skin, and the use of serums.

Organic skin care products for the face contain natural ingredients that may be better for the skin if the skin is sensitive to synthetic ingredients. When practiced regularly, proper face skin care can help keep skin blemish free. Proper face skin care may also help keep the skin looking young longer.

Normal Skin

Normal skin should be washed with a gentle cleanser twice a day (once in the morning and again at night). A mild toner that contains witch hazel should be used after each cleansing, along with a moisturizer. Use a clay mask made for normal skin once a week to deep clean the skin.

Dry Skin

To prevent making the skin even dryer, wash dry skin before going to bed at night and do not wash it in the morning. Use a cleanser that contains moisturizing ingredients such as rose oil, and a toner with moisturizing ingredients.

Spread a dry skin moisturizer on the face, making sure to apply it before the skin is completely dry to lock in moisture, and use a moisturizing mask on the skin at least once a week. Go to a skin care specialist for a facial massage to simulate the oil glands that bring natural moisturize to the skin.

Oily Skin

Skin care for oily skin is designed to clean excess oil from the skin and prevent pimples and blackheads from forming. Wash oily skin twice a day, and wipe skin with a toner that contains alcohol after each washing.

Oily skin will benefit from the use of an oil-balancing moisturizer when it is applied to the skin after cleansing. Use a clay mask on oily skin once or twice a week, or as recommended by the manufacturer of the product. It is best to have a dermatologist care for acne-prone skin.

Mature Skin

Mature skin should be washed only at night, before going to bed, and a mild toner should be used after cleansing. Use a moisturizing serum that contains vitamin C for collagen support, as collagen production slows down with age. Apply a mask that nourishes as well as exfoliates the skin to clear the way for new skin cells.

Prevention/Solution

Always use a sunscreen when outdoors to protect the skin from sun damage, and stay out of the sun between the hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hydrate your skin from the inside by drinking at least 64 ounces of water each day.

You should also avoid drinking excessive amounts of alcohol and do not smoke cigarettes to keep skin looking its best. Sit in a room with a humidifier to add more moisture to your skin.
