Though Emjoi makes both corded and cordless razors, the firm is best-known for its epilator. An epilator is an electric device that acts as a tweezer, rapidly removing unwanted hair directly from the root. The first epilator was invented in 1982 and produced by Braun, but Emjoi has become an industry leader, creating corded, rechargeable and cordless units in many different sizes.

The top-of-the-line Emjoi Optima Epilator is $99.95 and is the fastest unit the company makes.

Considerations
The epilators are created with women in mind. With the possible exception of removal of back and chest hair, they are not designed to be used by men. Emjoi recommends using a loofah in warm water to exfoliate the skin before hair removal. This will help prevent ingrown hairs from forming.
