To find dinosaurs in Connecticut you must begin at the Dinosaur State Park. Beneath their geodesic dome, you will find a display of early Jurassic fossil tracks that were made 200 million years ago. Dinosaur State park opened in 1968. 2,000 dinosaur’s tracks were accidentally found during excavation for anew-state building. Five hundred tracks are preserved within the Exhibit’s Center geodesic dome. The park’s 200 million year old track way is now a Registered Natural Landmark. Dinosaur State Park is located one mile east of Exit 23 on Interstate Highway 91. Just a few miles south of Hartford, Connecticut.
In addition, the Yale Peabody Museum has a wealth of exhibits concerning dinosaurs Located in New Haven Connecticut. Founded in 1866 with a gift from philanthropist George Peabody. Peabody provided the gift after his nephew O.C. Marsh (the museums first director) urged him on to do so. Marsh and Peabody together built many of the great collections. Today you can still see some of Marshes most famous finds- the dinosaurs he names Triceratops, Stegosaurus and Brontosaurus. The museum is located on the Yale University Campus.
