Astronomy

Some say that the Universe is an endless place. The truth is that no one knows as yet just how vast is the Universe in which we inhabit. There is also a great deal of speculation as to if we are alone within the huge Universe. We can all agree that the Universe is a mighty big place. Buy a telescope, read a few astronomy books and take a good look for yourself.

From an astrological point of view it would seem that other intelligent beings also populate one or more places just within our own galaxy. Then again, unless a creditable scientist sees one face to face the speculation will continue, as alien hunters stare up and into the night sky. Did you ever see an unidentified flying object?

Believe it or not, there is primitive tribe of people who still worship a God that looks just like an airplane which is known as a C-47. You see, during World War II we brought with us a whole lot of military cargo planes, each of which was a C-47. Well, you better believe it because I have pictures of their worship celebration, complete with the model of that aircraft that they made a placed at the top of a pole.

Such is also the case of modern man in search of aliens from space. As luck would have it, there is always a bit of mysticism associated with things that we do not completely understand. The mystery of the Universe, including its size, will never be solved. Our best telescope can see only as far as 13 billions of light years of distance.

For those of you who do not know, the speed of light is about 186,000 miles per second. How many seconds are there within 13 billion years? To see objects that are 13 billion light years away is quite incredible.

On the other hand, the center of the Universe has yet to be discovered. Nor has an outer boundary been discovered. Therefore, it is reasonable to believe that we are somewhere within a Universe whose total dimensions are truly unknown to Mankind. Then again, somewhere within the Universe is another race of beings trying to discover just how big the Universe truly is.

Yes, only a fool would believe that we are the only intelligent life within the Universe. The odds favor the fact that we are not alone within the Universe, and I would not be surprised if we were not the smartest group of creatures that ever evolved within such an endless place. The Universe, including its many wonders, has yet to be completely understood by the smartest among us who have ever lived or maybe will ever live.
